Everyone is invited! Mark Saturday, June 23 on your calendar. This is the inaugural event that we hope can become a centerpiece event each summer. Come and join us.
WHAT IS GARDENWALK LEE’S SUMMIT?
Simply, it is a garden tour in one of Lee’s Summit’s downtown historic districts. As neighbors and homeowners, we are proud of our homes, gardens, streets and sidewalks. This event is a chance for others to get out and enjoy our walkable and scenic surroundings, all within a couple of blocks. So, park your cars, grab your camera, sketchbook and friends and explore all of the cool gardens.
WHAT KIND OF GARDENS WILL I SEE?
We hope there is something for every gardening taste. You will find gardens with a formal structure and traditional plants, while others exhibit native species and funky garden art. Still, others offer a look at interesting garden decks, ponds and pergolas. The garden owners will be in each yard to answer questions and to visit. Make sure you stop to make a new friend.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The garden tour will start at the corner of 6th and Miller at the Eames’ residence. Here, visitors will pick up a neighborhood map and garden guide and get started.
WHAT DOES IT COST? AND WHO DOES IT BENEFIT?
The cost for the tour is $5 per person. The funds raised will go to Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street to continue to help strengthen and promote the heart of our city.
WHAT TIME WILL THE TOUR TAKE PLACE?
The tour will open to the public at noon and continue until 8 p.m. We encourage visitors to take advantage of the shops and restaurants in downtown Lee’s Summit before or after the event.
